I’m Manhar, a product designer who questions the logic, not just the layout.

I’m Manhar. I design interfaces for things with batteries. So far that’s been a smartwatch and the app that pairs with it, and I’m usually the person asking why we’re doing it that way.

A screen with a battery behind it has rules a website doesn’t. Every lit pixel costs something, and the hardware decides what you’re allowed to draw. That constraint is the part I like, and it isn’t only found on wrists.

I studied at NIFT and joined Layers as an intern. Most of what I know I learned by being wrong in front of people who knew better: a product head who cut a feature I’d fought for, a firmware engineer who explained why my shadows cost battery.

I once wore two watches for six months and called it research.
